Welcome

There are many responsibilities to owning a horse and Emily McGee, an NSU Cowgirl that competes in break-away roping and barrel racing, enjoys using her GOOD HORSE SENSE to help educate the public on proper horse care and related costs.

Every year there are over 100,000 reported cases of Equine abuse in America alone, with neglect being the most common form of abuse.     And, it is often a lack of knowledge on the owner's part that brings about neglect.

Emily has been involved with horses for many years while raising horses, competing in rodeo and attending numerous horse clinics to help expand her equine knowledge base.   She currently competes in college rodeo for Northwestern State University -  Go NSU Demons! - and she was the 2009 Future Farmers of America Louisiana State Star Farmer in equine science.

Emily has given several demonstrations at schools and special events that were very successful and provided knowledge about rodeo, horses, and overall care of horses.

This was Emily's 2nd time to be a guest  on the "Open Line" morning show, a live, 30-minute format, where Emily shared  'Good Horse Sense' tips and talked about the non-profit organization.
